Well first of all welcome to my open source world as I do want to share lot of things with you people.
Define Open Source Products??

I am dam sure you already know what is meant by open source but even then just wana explain it in one line.Open source products are those which you can use for free and distribute it and even sell them but whenever you made some changes in the core product features you will have to make it available for the open source community to download it Well this is not the complete definition of open source products and not the only definition on earth. So if you prefer some thing more on it I prefer Google it.

system and infact its an excellent content management system having
comprehensive list of features with complete user-friendly backend
environment. Complete modular approach and the most importantly its has such
a easy installer that a non technical user can just simply copy the files to
his or her hosting service and can install it in few minutes hmmmmmm yah its

prospective Joomla is differnt ball game as different companies and
freelancers build extensions / components for joomla and they offer them for
sale or for free. So if u r good developer and having good experience in
developing php u can exercise ur skills in building components / extensions
for joomla and then publish them on

another learning management system but infact I have not used it more often

you can find thousanads of open source products at http://sourceforge.net a great repository of open source products. The new exciting feataure whihc sourceforge has announced is that if you want to hire any developer for the installation or configuration of any open source prodcut u can hire from their well structured mechanism. You can search such services and can see the devlopers profile and its ratings which might help you in outsourcing the job. If you are developer then you can get urself register their at http://sourceforge.net and start offering ur services and GOOD LUCK hmmmm :). I hope you would find this post useful.

Future Predictions About Open Source

There are no two thoughts in my point of view that future is in open source because its free and its getting stable day by day. Java , Linux , Apache , MySql, php etc are the strong examples of open source products which are showing great level of maturity and perfection and infact these products are far better then lot of their competent products.

About Security Issues

Well this is little cheeky as you never know what is inside the product u r using under the open source license. This can be bit risky for your senstive data. Open source applications are always owned by the community and not comming from the single source of developers so u can never trust all of the sources (developers) unless or untill it is matured and tested plus having good repute in the market.

Most of the open source products dont have any support but good and well reputed products do have some support on forums but some times it appears to be not enough for novice users. So before taking any decsion of choosing open source product keep the support factor in mind.
